We will gather on Saturday evening for a BBQ dinner at Pine Banks Park, a 107.5 acre Olmstead-designed estate which was privately owned by the Converse Family and bequeathed by Elisha Converse to the cities of Melrose and Malden in 1905 to be jointly used “forever as a public park.” Program will include a formal welcome and greeting from C. Henry Kezer, Esq., President of the Pine Banks Park Foundation, greetings from Mayor Christenson and brief remarks by Peter Converse on the Converse Family: who are we and our place in America.

We are incredibly fortunate to have received a grant from the Adelaide Breed Bayrd Foundation, which will allow us to keep the cost per person for the dinner at $99.00. This includes the barbecue dinner, the cost of tables, chairs, tablecloths, lighting, sound, labor, printing, and administration of the Reunion itself. In addition, we are offering “angel” level tickets for those who are willing and able to pay the regular price plus a contribution, so that we may assist some cousins for whom the travel and reunion costs are just not in the budget. Angels, we desperately need you and we will pamper you with difficult-to-come-by parking passes at the Library!! This will be a busy weekend in Malden, with the Phantom Gourmet Food Festival added to the mix, so parking will be a very welcome perk.
